Users experience systems differently from designers and operators. Problems are usually fixed only when they are known to exist.

My fixit skills did the trick this time but they were stretched. More consideration needs to be given to designing objects that can be easily repaired or recycled.
I doubt I’ll find a better deal
Dyson replaced the main unit on our ‘out of warranty’ vacuum cleaner for free. It would have cost $299 but was out of stock when I called and their policy in such cases is to replace the item at no charge. That’s a good deal.
Now we can clean house
We won’t be cleaning like Scotty for the upcoming election but for real with our late 2018 Dyson V10 vacuum cleaner. It’s trigger switch has been dodgy for a while and on Monday it gave up completely when I was almost finished cleaning the car after our recent trip.
