My fixit skills did the trick this time but they were stretched. More consideration needs to be given to designing objects that can be easily repaired or recycled.
My need for surgery earlier this year constrained our travel plans. Now that my first stage of healing is done and the surgeon has confirmed I am on track we can begin to do some serious planning.
The road back from my operation may be long but I think I passed a milestone when I managed to make our regular Saturday night pasta dinner.
It’s going to take weeks and months to get back to ‘normal’ but I am making progress. I’m able to exercise and seem to be gaining energy and strength each day.

Once again the Greens are pursuing the ‘perfect’ to the potential detriment of the ‘good’. We should have had a treaty 200+ years ago but now we need a Voice with whom to negotiate.
I tend to disagree with what Kevin Donnelly has to say on any subject but I can mostly let it slide by. In this case I couldn’t.
Peter Dutton’s call for more detail about the Voice is a disingenuous spoiling tactic for political purposes. Unfortunately too many people are falling in line.
As PM, Kevin Rudd was often criticised for being a ‘policy wonk’ rather than the leader the nation needed and wanted. Since his departure from politics he has resumed his interest in policy, drawing on his education and experience related to China. His explanation of what drives China, or Xi Jingping as leader, is clear and convincing. Understanding that might enable us to avoid deadly conflict.
